Things undone

When he comes home from work (it's odd but accurate, home), he doesn't speak to anyone, more focused on getting clean and fed than anything else. He's grateful that it's fairly easy, there's no one wanting his attention at the moment, though there's this noise coming from the living room that grates on his nerves.
After washing up and eating, Hiei walks into the living room to the oddest sight. There's a . . . Nintendo, was it? Some game system hooked up the the television, and wires sprawled all over the floor. Aisha's sprawled over the couch, head hanging over the end of the couch in a angle he knows will give her a headache later. She looks wild in her pajamas, cackling and moving with the controller in her hands. Such a child, and he scoffed at the sight . . .
Kurama looks focused, as if he was in a war. His eyes were sharp, fingers moving fast, and it was almost interesting. He's shirtless, on the other end of the couch. Neither of them look at him, so he glances at the screen. He can't tell who's winning or losing, but the question's answered easily enough when a giant monkey with a blinking hammer goes sailing over the edge and the redhead chuckles.
"You made me lose!" That's Aisha, frowning up at him with a death grip on her controller. She would pick the monkey. Snickering, he sits on the couch between them, and both of them seem to shift closer to him.
It says something that he doesn't mind.
"Aisha, it isn't right to blame Hiei for your . . . deficiencies." He keeps chuckling, even as he's hit on the head with a pillow. That seems to pacify Aisha well enough, and she laughs too.
"Whatever, it was the hammer's fault, I almost had you and your dumb cannon." She grins and tosses a controller into Hiei's hands, and he looks down in distaste. He had absolutely no interest in anything to do with this. It was foolish, and . . . they were both smiling, there was no way he was getting out of this one. Best to go along with it and get it over with.
The mechanics are simple. A button to jump, to punch, the direction stick to move. "You two couldn't just fight each other?"
This was such a waste of time, but they claimed it was "fun". That it relived stress, and they both did seem rather relaxed. Although there were much more enjoyable ways of supposed "stress relief" . . .
"We are fighting each other! Now, you should totally be Pikachu, he's like, a video game version of you or someth-" Aisha's suggestion was interrupted by him punching her in the shoulder, hard enough for it to bruise up. "Hey, what was that for?!?"
"For suggesting I be an electric rat. Kurama, who would you suggest?"
"Given your style, someone quick yet powerful . . . Sheik, maybe?" He nodded his assent, and the game began anew. It was rather absorbing, and though he'd just picked the game up, he was a quick enough study. The computer became a non-factor pretty quickly, and their fights were filled with Aisha's excited shouting, Hiei's taunts, and Kurama's sly proficiency at it all. He hadn't used the same character twice.
They were all ruthless players, and neither of them were above cheating or raising the stakes, which is how the session ended with Kurama's hair in high pigtails, Hiei having stickers on his face, and Aisha tied up with her own controller.
All in all, it was a pretty good night.
